Desiccant film is a range of extruded desiccant plastic products which incorporate either a molecular sieve or silica gel desiccant into their own 3 phase structure. These films can be used in the following applications:

Heat Staked Desiccant Film for Barrier Foil:

• Chose type of desiccant film based on application.
• Determine the amount of molecular sieve or silica gel desiccant needed in the package based on leak rate into package, desired shelf life and residual moisture.
• CSP Film added to foil material in line during pouch forming.
• Heat staking secures desiccant film to foil.

Advantages of heat staked desiccant film:

• No adhesive required, so cost effective
• Can be run at high speed on automated heat staking machine
• Thin and unobtrusive so pack sizes can be small
• Can be provided pre installed into barrier foil pouches/ bags
