Heat sealers are primarily used to create pouches, bags or other fabricated shapes and to provide an hermetic barrier on both thermoplastic and complex laminated structures. These prevent the negative effects of moisture and moisture vapour and where applicable, gaseous and UV damage to products.

Both direct heat and impulse sealers are available for respectively sealing aluminium foil barrier materials or thermoplastics such as polyethylene or polypropylene.
