Baltimore Desiccant Breathers are designed to permit the equalisation of air pressure between sealed spaces and the outer atmosphere, whilst at the same time preventing moisture ingress and contamination.

Desiccant Breathers are widely used in electricity transmission and distribution networks, where they are fitted to electricity sub-stations and transformers. They are also used as tank vent dryers / reservoir vent dryers for above-ground and subterranean fuel and solvent tanks.

Our desiccant breathers use TransformaGel™; a high quality form of beaded silica gel that changes colour from orange to green as it becomes saturated during its working life. In doing so, it is apparent to the user when the breather needs replacing. TransformaGel™ is a form of safe-indicating silica gel which is environmentally friendly. As a result, it has no special disposal requirements.
